Kannada film superstar Darshan Thoogudeepa, currently imprisoned in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case, broke down during a court hearing and pleaded for poison, saying he could no longer bear his suffering behind bars.
On Tuesday, during the monthly hearing, Darshan appeared via video conferencing before the 64th City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru. With tears in his eyes, he told the judge, “I can’t live like this anymore. Please give me poison.”
“No Sunlight, Fungal Infection in Hand”
Darshan complained that he had not seen sunlight for over a month. He also revealed that a fungal infection had spread on his hand. Along with this, he requested basic amenities such as a pillow, bedsheet, and home-cooked food.
However, the judge denied his requests, stating that such special arrangements were not possible inside prison. Following this, Darshan lowered his head and remained silent.
Drastic Change in Appearance
When arrested in August 2024, Darshan appeared strong and confident. But now, his physical and emotional state has visibly deteriorated. Reports suggest he looks much weaker.
Meanwhile, actress Pavithra Gowda, alleged to be Darshan’s girlfriend, was also arrested from her Bengaluru residence in connection with the same case. During her arrest, she was seen visibly angry at the media presence.
What is the Renukaswamy Murder Case?
On June 9, 2024, the body of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan, was found under a Bengaluru flyover. According to police investigations, Renukaswamy had allegedly sent offensive messages to actress Pavithra Gowda.
On June 11, 2024, Darshan was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder. Pavithra was also taken into custody the same day.
