Ranveer Singh’s latest outing, Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, has finally hit cinemas — and as expected, it brings a storm of adrenaline, nationalism and raw emotion.
The trailer hinted at something massive, but the film reveals that “yeh toh sirf trailer tha, picture abhi baaki hai.” Dhar blends gangster networks, terrorism roots, cross-border missions and Indian intelligence strategy into a gripping narrative.
Plot — A Mission Born From Pain, Politics and Revenge
The story opens with the 1999 Kandahar hijacking, where IB Chief Ajay Sanyal (R. Madhavan) is prevented from responding with full force. Soon after, India faces the 2002 Parliament attack, finally forcing the government to greenlight Sanyal’s covert plan — Operation Dhurandhar.
Enter Hamza (Ranveer Singh), who infiltrates Pakistan via Afghanistan to penetrate the gang of dreaded don Rehman Dacoit (Akshaye Khanna).
- During a wedding attack, Hamza saves Rehman’s son
- Rehman takes him under his wing
- Hamza transforms into his most trusted lieutenant
Here, Hamza meets Yelina (Sara Arjun), daughter of politician Jamil Yamali (Rakesh Bedi), and entangles her into his mission.
When Hamza witnesses ISI Chief Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal) orchestrating the 26/11 attack, the mission turns personal — carving the path for a breathtaking revenge arc.
Political manipulations rise as Jamil Yamali aligns with SP Aslam Chaudhary (Sanjay Dutt) to eliminate Rehman. The film races toward how Hamza seeks justice for 26/11, what happens to his relationship with Yelina, and whether he ever returns home.
