Bollywood and Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has finally broken his silence on the Pahalgam terror attack, his film Sardarji 3, and the India-Pakistan cricket match debate.
During his live concert in Malaysia, Diljit addressed the controversy that linked his movie with the tragic attack. The singer clarified that Sardarji 3 was shot before the incident and said that it was wrong to connect the two.
Diljit’s Malaysia Concert Statement
Videos from Diljit’s concert in Malaysia are going viral on social media. In one clip, he is seen saluting the Indian national flag and saying, “This is my country’s flag, and we must always respect it.” He further asked the audience for permission to express his feelings on the controversy.
Clarifying ‘Sardarji 3’ Shooting Timeline
Diljit explained that the shooting of Sardarji 3 took place in February when India and Pakistan were playing cricket matches. The Pahalgam attack, in which 26 people were killed, occurred later on April 22. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and demanded strict punishment for the terrorists.
“Punjabis and Sikhs Can Never Be Anti-National”
Hitting back at sections of Indian media, Diljit said, “National media tried to portray me as anti-national, but Punjabis and Sikhs can never go against the nation.”
He also admitted that he had kept quiet despite having answers to all allegations. “I chose silence. I have learned that no matter what people say, you should not keep that poison inside you. I don’t want to engage in useless talk anymore.”
