After years of anticipation, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is making a powerful return to television. Set to premiere on July 29, the reboot of one of India’s most iconic daily soaps brings back the much-loved Tulsi Virani, played by Smriti Irani. The show that once ruled Indian households for eight years is ready to win hearts again with nostalgia, new faces, and a tightly-packed storyline.

This time, the journey will be concise. The reboot is expected to run for 150 episodes, making it a compact and focused storyline. However, Ekta Kapoor has a bigger dream. She hopes that with this comeback, the show will eventually reach the 2000-episode milestone, adding another feather to its historic cap.

Smriti Irani Breaks Silence on Retirement Rumors

The return of Smriti Irani to the screen sparked a series of speculations, particularly about her political career. As one of India’s most prominent politicians, many assumed she might be stepping away from her responsibilities. However, in a recent interview with Aajtak, she addressed the rumors directly.

“Who retires at 49? People’s careers do not even start at 49. I have been an MP thrice, I have been a minister of three departments. There is still a long way to go,” she stated.

Smriti further explained that politics is unpredictable, and she doesn’t know what role her party may assign next. But her contribution in Parliament and past activism including dharnas and even jail time have shaped her public service journey.

When asked why she returned to acting, she kept it simple: it was a personal decision. She shared that she has always lived life on her own terms and believes in embracing every chapter. According to her, she had the privilege of choice and she chose to return.

A Power-Packed Cast: Old Meets New

Joining Smriti and Amar are several familiar faces from the original cast. Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, Karishma Tanna, Mouni Roy, Shilpa Agnihotri, Pulkit Samrat, Rakshanda Khan, and Sandeep Baswana are all set to return. Their presence strengthens the emotional thread that long-time fans cherish.

New energy will be added by actors like Shagun Sharma, Rohit Suchanti, Aman Gandhi, Nidhi Shah, and Tanisha Mehta. Recently, Barkha Bisht also confirmed her role in the show, further adding to the anticipation.

This reboot isn’t just a relaunch; it’s a tribute to television history. The show, once considered a cornerstone of Indian culture, is being reimagined with a blend of tradition and freshness.

Mark your calendars for July 29 at 10:30 PM because Tulsi is back, and so is Indian television’s most iconic family.
