Sharad Kelkar, known for his striking screen presence and deep, resonant voice, has made his long-awaited return to television. This time, he steps into a role quite unlike his past characters. In Tumm Se Tumm Tak, produced by Prateek Sharma, Sharad plays Arya Vardhan, a sharp, successful billionaire whose path collides with Anu, a young woman from a modest middle-class home. The drama unfolds as these two, from opposite ends of society, discover unlikely companionship and tangled emotions.
For Sharad, the decision to return to television wasn’t about timing but about content. “Whether it’s a TV show, a film, or a web series — the medium is secondary to me. What matters most is the story, the character, and the kind of work I’m getting to do,” he shared. In this show, those boxes were firmly ticked.
Tumm Se Tumm Tak offers more than just a familiar romance arc. Sharad pointed out that the narrative had emotional highs and lows that felt grounded in reality. The relationship between Arya and Anu is less about clichés and more about finding shared humanity in unexpected places. “It’s not just a fairytale romance, it has depth, realism, and heart,” he reflected.
Returning to the same channel that once aired his earlier work made this project even more personal for Sharad. Calling it a homecoming of sorts, he expressed how gratifying it felt to be welcomed back through such a meaningful role. He credited producer Prateek Sharma for making the journey smooth. “He is incredibly honest, grounded, and supportive the kind of person who gives his actors the creative space they need,” Sharad said warmly.
Beyond this show, Sharad’s schedule remains packed. He’s currently juggling a feature film and a web series alongside his television comeback. Yet, he’s found a way to balance it all, something he attributes to a professional, accommodating team. “I’m fortunate to have a producer who respects my process,” he acknowledged.
Over the years, audiences have come to associate Sharad Kelkar with intense, commanding characters like law enforcers, antagonists, or no-nonsense figures. But this time, he’s eager to reveal a different side. Arya Vardhan, despite his wealth and power, carries a vulnerability that Sharad was eager to portray. “But honestly, I’m a very romantic person at heart,” he confessed. He believes viewers will enjoy seeing this gentler, more emotional facet of his persona on screen.
Sharad also spoke candidly about why television remains a cherished medium for him. In his eyes, it’s one of the most honest forms of storytelling. “You can’t pretend for long so the character has to be relatable and consistent because you’re living with it day in and day out,” he explained. That connection to the audience, built over countless episodes, makes the medium unique and rewarding.
As for what Tumm Se Tumm Tak promises, Sharad hinted it’s much more than just a love story. The narrative features two parallel tracks, each equally compelling. He teased how audiences will watch characters grow, confront their past, and heal through each other. “It’s not just about love; it’s about transformation, healing, and discovering parts of yourself through someone else,” he concluded.
With his trademark sincerity and a role that challenges his image, Sharad Kelkar’s return seems poised to leave a lasting mark on the small screen once again.
