Ram Kapoor has always been a familiar, dependable face in the world of Indian entertainment. From ruling television screens to making his mark in films and now web series, his journey has been packed with highs, risks, and a fair share of controversies. His latest web show Mistry has kept him in conversations, both for his performance and the off-screen drama surrounding it.

Ram Kapoor on Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’s Controversial Kiss Scene

Recently, Ram sat down for a candid conversation with Pinkvilla, addressing several topics head-on from past controversies to professional setbacks and upcoming projects. Among the subjects that resurfaced was the infamous kiss scene with Sakshi Tanwar in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, which years ago stirred television audiences across generations. It was the first time something so bold made its way to Indian TV in a prime-time family drama. Ram revealed that he initially assumed the idea came from Ekta herself. In retrospect, he admitted, “I took it for granted that the kiss was her idea. I should have double-checked with her; maybe it wasn’t her idea.”

He shared that during the show’s creative discussions, the concept of the kiss was conveyed to him through producer Ektaa Kapoor. That led him to believe it had her approval. He explained that Ektaa had to endure unnecessary backlash for a decision that wasn’t solely hers. Ram acknowledged, “For her to get angry and say, ‘What the hell are you doing? It wasn’t my idea, and you’re saying it’s mine,’ is justified.” He credited her for playing a significant role in his career, stating, “I can never disregard what that woman has done for me.”

The Mistry Promotion Ban: What Really Happened

Beyond old controversies, Ram also opened up about more recent troubles surrounding Mistry. he was banned from promoting his own show due to disagreements. Ram didn’t shy away from addressing it. He spoke about how he had to confront the consequences of being unfiltered, a trait he said came from his father. Reflecting on his earlier attitude, he confessed, “I was allowing myself to be a brat.”

On the so-called ban from Mistry promotions, Ram accepted that certain people were offended by his behavior and this incident taught him valuable lessons. “I don’t have the luxury of being what I was 20 years back, and this has taught me that. You don’t learn from your successes; you learn only from your failures. This has been a failure, so I am learning a lot from it.” The actor shared that he now takes greater care in understanding how his actions are received and acknowledged that he.

Despite the setbacks, Ram Kapoor’s professional calendar remains full. He confirmed having three projects lined up, though he couldn’t reveal much at this stage. One of them, he hinted, is a major film scheduled for release at the end of September. While keeping the star’s identity under wraps, he revealed a personal anecdote about the lead actor. Ram shared how, after his physical transformation, this actor was the first person to call him from the Maldives at 7:30 in the morning.

Apart from the September release, Ram has another completed film that’s likely to hit screens early next year. Additionally, there’s an intense web series based on a true story, already ready for release, though no official dates have been confirmed. Speaking about his career choices, Ram said he’s in no hurry to sign every offer. He emphasized wanting to enjoy his work while giving his best.
