Shefali Jariwala’s sudden and heartbreaking demise has left the entertainment industry and her fans in disbelief. At just 42, the actress, fondly remembered as the Kaanta Laga girl, reportedly succumbed to a cardiac arrest. Her close friend Pooja Ghai has brought out some new facts about her last hours.
On the day of her untimely passing, Shefali is said to have taken a Vitamin C IV drip, a treatment she’d reportedly been following for years as part of her anti-ageing routine. In a recent conversation with journalist Vickey Lalwani, her close friend and actress Pooja Ghai confirmed the development. Pooja revealed that Shefali had indeed taken a drip that day and emphasized how common such treatments have become in recent years, especially post-pandemic. “It’s so common. In fact, if you walk down the streets here in Dubai, you see multiple Vitamin C drips at regular clinics and salons,” she stated.
Pooja shared that Shefali had been receiving these drips as part of her beauty regimen long before this incident. According to her, it was a regular practice among many in the entertainment business where appearance plays a crucial role in career longevity. Ghai stressed that Shefali always looked after herself and remained particular about staying in peak form. “She was in a profession where she had to be her best, and she was her best. She looked the best,” Pooja remarked, defending her late friend’s personal choices.
Following the incident, law enforcement arrived at the residence of Shefali’s husband, actor Parag Tyagi. As part of routine procedure, they also summoned the professional responsible for administering the IV drip. The aim was to examine what exactly had been injected and confirm the dosage and brand of medication used. It was during this initial investigation that the detail of the Vitamin C drip came to light.
An important aspect that investigators are now examining is the fact that Shefali had been observing a religious fast that day. Despite not having consumed food for several hours, she went ahead with her routine anti-ageing injection in the afternoon. This decision is being looked into closely, as combining an intravenous treatment with a fasting body could potentially trigger adverse reactions, though no official statement has confirmed this theory yet.
Friends close to the actress maintain that she had no visible signs of stress or major health concerns leading up to the tragedy. Many insiders from the industry have since voiced concerns about the overuse of cosmetic procedures and wellness trends that, while fashionable, may have unknown or overlooked side effects when used for extended periods.
The police have not yet ruled out any possibilities. An official report detailing the precise cause of her cardiac arrest is awaited, and statements from medical experts, including the person who administered the drip, are being recorded. In the meantime, the shocking nature of Shefali’s passing has reignited conversations about health awareness and the importance of regular medical check-ups when engaging in long-term cosmetic treatments.
