The OG daily soap that once made your grandmother cry and your dad sneak peeks is back. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has returned with a Gen Z twist, and this time, it’s bringing in a fresh batch of characters along with some of the iconic veterans. Ekta Kapoor, the queen of kitchen politics and dramatic background scores, is once again stirring the pot of the Virani family drama. And the latest ingredient in this masala mix? Actor Nirvaan Anandd, who is all set to sizzle the screen as Ajay, the son-in-law of the Virani clan and the better half of Paridhi “Pari” Virani.
From Bhagyalakshmi to Bahu Drama: Nirvaan’s Big Entry
Known for his roles in shows like Parineeti, Chaahenge Tumhe Itnaa, and Bhagyalakshmi, Nirvaan Anandd is now stepping into the chaotic world of the Viranis, where one phone call can trigger three weddings, two deaths, and a mysterious property will. His character Ajay is set to shake things up as the responsible, cultured, and occasionally clueless son-in-law who finds himself sandwiched between his traditional roots and his bold, firecracker of a wife, Paridhi (played by Shagun Sharma).
Speaking about his entry, Nirvaan said, “Joining a legacy show like Kyunki is like walking into a temple of Indian television. You can’t help but feel the pressure, the excitement, and a little bit of fear that Tulsi maa might slap you with her sanskaar.”
Meet Ajay: The Sanskari Damad with a Side of Sass
Ajay is not your typical “yes maa” type of son-in-law. He comes from an orthodox family, believes in values, and yet somehow finds himself paired with the bold and unpredictable Paridhi, the adoptive daughter of the legendary Tulsi and Mihir Virani. Their relationship? Think oil and water, or better yet, mirchi and malai. They love each other, they argue like it’s their hobby, and yet, Ajay stands by Paridhi like a solid wall of emotional support.
“Ajay is a positive, grounded guy who’s always trying to do the right thing — even when everything around him is going full-blown dramatic,” Nirvaan explained. “He’s a man of principles, but don’t mistake that for boring. He has his own share of fire when the moment demands.”
Working With Smriti Irani: From Nervous Wreck to Screen Chemistry
Nirvaan admits he was nervous at first, “I mean, you don’t just casually act opposite Tulsi Virani and not get sweaty palms!” But with time and rehearsals, he says the vibe on set turned warm and encouraging.
He called her a “TV industry icon” and shared that working with her has been one of the most surreal and learning-filled experiences of his career. “She makes you want to bring your A-game or at least remember all your lines,” he joked.
The Gen Z Season of Kyunki: Bigger, Bolder, and Way More Insta-Friendly
With updated sets, a fresh-faced cast, and storylines that balance old-school values with today’s social complexities, Kyunki 2.0 is proving to be more than just a nostalgia trip. It’s a full-blown drama-fest tailored for today’s multitasking audience. And with Nirvaan’s Ajay stepping into the chaotic world of joint families, marital tension, and uninvited relatives, viewers are in for a dhamakedar ride.
