The legacy of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is set to continue, and the excitement among its loyal audience is impossible to miss. Amar Upadhyay, who became a household name as Mihir Virani, is all set to return as the iconic character. Alongside him, the beloved Smriti Irani and Hiten Tejwani are also making their much-anticipated comebacks. Fans who have followed the show since its original run have been eager for updates, but it turns out they’ll have to hold on a little longer before the premiere.

The initial announcement hinted that Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi would return to television screens on July 3. However, Amar Upadhyay recently cleared the air about the timeline. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, the actor confirmed that while July 3 remains significant, it won’t be the date of the show’s premiere. Instead, that day will mark the start of shooting for the new season. Amar explained, “Yes, it’s true. The set had to be reworked. The color combination on screen wasn’t translating the way it should.”

The delay, it seems, stems from creative perfectionism. The show’s producer, Ektaa R Kapoor, known for her sharp eye and uncompromising standards, insisted on making sure every element of the production was flawless. Amar added, “Ektaa knows exactly what she wants, she’s a perfectionist. And this is Kyunki… it’s not just another show. It’s a legacy, and she wants to do everything that’s best for the show.”

July 3, 2025, holds special importance for the team as it marks 25 years since Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi first premiered in 2000. Amar revealed that the mahurat shoot would take place on this milestone anniversary. It’s a nod to the past and a step toward a refreshed future for the series. The nostalgia is strong, but this time, they plan to weave it with modern storytelling and a renewed presentation. The actor mentioned that while the memories are deeply cherished, there’s fresh energy among the cast and crew.

Amar also spoke about reuniting with Smriti Irani after the announcement of the new season. Despite the years, he insisted that their dynamic remains as effortless as ever. The chemistry they once shared as Mihir and Tulsi captured hearts across India, becoming one of the most cherished on-screen pairs in television history. Amar remains confident that this spark hasn’t faded and will find its way back on screen naturally.

Interestingly, this new season won’t be an endless saga like its predecessor. According to reports, the show has been planned with a finite run. The fresh installment of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi will feature just 150 episodes. This structured approach promises a tighter, more impactful narrative compared to the years-long run of the original, which aired from July 3, 2000, to November 6, 2008.
