A sweet and heartwarming moment recently unfolded on the sets of Jamai No. 1. Abhishek Malik, who plays Neel in the show, surprised everyone by stepping into an unexpected role, both on and off-screen. In a fresh track designed to charm audiences, Neel transforms into a chaiwala for his on-screen wife Riddhi, played by Simaran Kaur.

The sequence itself carried old-school charm. Neel takes Riddhi on a classic ‘tapri date,’ treating her to a hot cup of tea in true street-side style. Dressed in a humble chaiwala’s attire, he serves her a steaming cup, making the humble beverage a symbol of warmth, love, and nostalgia. While audiences found the gesture endearing, little did they know that something special was brewing once the cameras stopped rolling.

Abhishek Malik, known for his lively presence, took his role a step further. He didn’t just act like a tea vendor for the scene, he became one for real on set. Despite having no prior experience making tea, Abhishek was determined to make it happen. With some quick lessons from the spot boys and kitchen team, he learned the art of brewing the perfect cup of masala chai.

Speaking about the experience, Abhishek shared, “This track was honestly one of the most fun sequences I’ve shot in a while. When I heard the concept, I was instantly excited, it was such a sweet and goofy way for my character to express love.” He said that the idea of playing a chaiwala on screen gave him a quirky thought, why not extend the fun to his real-life set family too? What began as an idea soon became an impromptu tea-serving session between scenes.

He confessed that he didn’t know how to make tea before, but the crew guided him through it. Soon enough, Abhishek was seen carrying a kettle, pouring hot adrak, elaichi, and laung wali chai into small glasses. He made sure to give it an authentic cutting-chai tapri touch, making it feel as real as possible. Though unsure about how perfect his tea-making skills were, the actor revealed that everyone was warm and encouraging. Even those who typically avoided tea gave it a try.

The set, often filled with the usual rush of shoots and schedules, suddenly felt lighter. Crew members gathered during breaks, sipping tea and sharing laughs. Abhishek mentioned that it became a mini tea party of sorts, creating happy, relaxed moments amidst a busy shoot day. “It just created such a warm, happy vibe on set. Moments like these remind me how much fun this job can be,” he said.

While Abhishek’s lively tea-serving spree left hearts warmed and spirits high, the upcoming storyline in Jamai No. 1 is gearing up for turbulence. The plot will see Sayli, played by Sonal Vengurlekar, trying to stir trouble between Neel and Riddhi. Her character will be seen manipulating situations, creating misunderstandings, and attempting to drive a wedge between the two. Viewers are eager to see whether love will weather the storm or if Sayli’s plans will succeed.
