The curtain came down on Laughter Chefs – Unlimited Entertainment Season 2 with a spectacular grand finale. Hosted by the ever-entertaining Bharti Singh, the show wrapped up with a nail-biting finish as Karan Kundrra and Elvish Yadav were crowned winners. Meanwhile, Aly Goni and Reem Shaikh emerged as the first runners-up and walked away with sparkling diamond stars.
The finale saw a fierce battle between the two top teams. Aly and Reem, who had been leading the scoreboard until the semi-finals, were overtaken by Karan and Elvish in the last challenge.
Karan Kundrra Reflects on His Journey From Season 1 to Victory
Karan Kundrra, who joined Laughter Chefs Season 2 mid-way replacing Abdu Rozik, teamed up with YouTuber Elvish Yadav. The duo’s effortless chemistry and creativity in the kitchen helped them turn into fan favorites.
In an exclusive conversation with SCREEN, Karan looked back at his journey. “Season 1 had ended abruptly, and there were no winners,” he recalled. What began as an experimental filler show unexpectedly became a massive hit. The second season featured 16 contestants and welcomed back familiar faces, including Karan himself. Despite his hectic shooting schedule in Dubai, he didn’t miss a single episode. “I would take a flight at 3:30 am after shooting all day and night, come here, and would not even feel tired,” he revealed.
From Kitchen Novice to Culinary Enthusiast
Interestingly, Karan shared that Laughter Chefs Season 1 was the first time he had ever entered a kitchen. Initially unfamiliar with even the basics of cooking, the show introduced him to a whole new side of himself. By the time Season 2 rolled around, he had developed a knack for making food not just edible, but delicious. “I didn’t know I had a knack for cooking and would enjoy it so much,” he admitted.
Shooting the show wasn’t just a professional commitment; it became a form of stress relief. “I wanted to be back on the show because it’s therapy,” said Karan, underlining how the camaraderie and laughter on set made the long shooting hours feel like fun rather than work.
No Room for Ego or Insecurity
Karan also touched upon the initial skepticism many had about joining a show with so many actors. “Actors are very insecure people; they don’t want to share their screen space,” he confessed. But both seasons defied expectations. Everyone came together in a collaborative spirit. There was no negativity or ego clashes, something Karan believes made the entire experience wholesome and joyful.
What’s Next: Is Season 3 on the Cards?
With the immense popularity of Season 2, fans are already buzzing about Laughter Chefs Season 3. Although there has been no official announcement, Karan shared his thoughts. “I don’t know if Season 3 is in talks, but according to me, the show is inevitable. It has good ratings, and this show has reached worldwide,” he said confidently.
As the Colors TV channel shifts its focus to upcoming shows like Pati Patni Aur Panga and Bigg Boss 19, all eyes are now on whether the magic of Laughter Chefs will return for another delicious season.
