Prajakta Koli’s Special Connection with Nepal
Prajakta shares a personal bond with Nepal through her husband, Vrishank Khanna, who hails from the country. The couple tied the knot on February 25, 2025, in a ceremony that beautifully blended Nepali and Maharashtrian traditions. Given this deep connection, her Nepal tour carried emotional significance, making its cancellation even more heartfelt.
Why Is There Violence in Nepal?
The unrest in Nepal began after the government imposed a ban on social media platforms, triggering massive protests by Gen Z citizens. Demonstrations soon escalated into violent clashes, leading to 20 deaths and widespread destruction, including attacks on ministers’ residences. Tragically, former Prime Minister Khanal’s wife also lost her life in the chaos. Although the government has since lifted the ban, curfew remains in place across several regions.
