According to Abdu’s management team, the 21-year-old Tajikistani singer was detained by Dubai Police for questioning in connection with a theft case. Returning from Montenegro around 5 PM, Abdu was stopped by authorities immediately after his flight landed in Dubai.
In a statement to Khaleej Times, his team clarified:
“Abdu was not arrested. He was only detained for questioning regarding a theft case. He has fully cooperated with the authorities and has since been released. Today, he is attending an award ceremony in Dubai as planned.”
They also slammed false reports about his arrest and warned of legal action against those spreading misinformation that could tarnish Abdu’s image.
