The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), founded by actor-turned-politician Vijay, witnessed a massive gathering at its second state-level conference held in Parapathi, Madurai district, on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Reports suggest that more than 10 lakh volunteers and supporters attended the event, many of whom traveled overnight from across Tamil Nadu.
This marks the second large-scale conference for TVK since its inception in February 2024. The party had earlier hosted its first state-level meet at Vikravandi in Villupuram district on October 27, 2024.
Folk Performances, Cultural Flair, and Vijay’s Entry
The event began with vibrant folk performances that energized the crowd. A special theme song composed for the occasion played as Vijay made a grand entry, walking along a ramp extended into the audience. Waving at the sea of supporters, the actor-politician also greeted party leaders seated on stage.
Before officially launching the conference, Vijay paid floral tributes to portraits of the party’s ideological leaders and hoisted the TVK party flag. This was followed by a collective party pledge taken by leaders and cadres, reaffirming their political vision.
Leaders Outline Vision and Party Plans
According to The Hindu, speeches were delivered by N. Anand, TVK’s General Secretary, and K.G. Arunraj, General Secretary of Propaganda and Policy, who had earlier resigned from the Indian Revenue Service to join Vijay’s party. Both leaders highlighted the party’s future roadmap, organizational strategies, and people-centric agenda.
The overwhelming crowd turnout at Parapathi underlined TVK’s growing influence across Tamil Nadu and its ability to mobilize grassroots-level supporters, adding momentum ahead of its upcoming political campaigns.
