The wait is finally over for fans of Broken Lizard’s cult comedy series. Filming has officially started on Super Troopers 3, the latest entry in the iconic comedy franchise, as reported by Variety.

Original Cast Returns Under Jay Chandrasekhar

Jay Chandrasekhar, who directed the first two films, is back at the helm for the third installment. Alongside directing, he will reprise his role on screen with fellow Broken Lizard members Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske.

Veteran actor Brian Cox will return as Captain John O’Hagan, while Marisa Coughlan is also set to reprise her role as Ursula Hanson.

New Faces Join the Comedy Lineup

Fresh talent will also be part of the mix. Nat Faxon joins as Captain Todd Markowski, Chace Crawford steps in as Baker Buchanan, and Saturday Night Live alum Andrew Dismukes will play Coy Burns.

Searchlight Pictures Continues Collaboration

The script has been penned by the Broken Lizard team itself, while Richard Perello is producing the film for Searchlight Pictures. Shooting is set to continue through the week.

The first Super Troopers premiered at Sundance in 2001, earning cult status and winning the Audience Award at SXSW. Its sequel, Super Troopers 2, released in 2018, cemented the comedy group’s legacy.

This third installment strengthens the long-running collaboration between Broken Lizard and Searchlight Pictures, who have previously partnered on Club Dread and Quasi.
