Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana was set to marry music composer–filmmaker Palash Muchhal on 23 November. But just a day before the celebrations, the wedding was abruptly postponed, leaving fans shocked and speculation running wild.
According to family sources, the decision was taken after Smriti’s father suddenly fell ill during the sangeet ceremony. He reportedly suffered a minor heart attack and was admitted to the hospital. Fortunately, he recovered and was discharged within a few days.
Since then, multiple theories have surfaced online, prompting the family to break their silence.
Brother Shravan Mandhana Ends Speculation
On Tuesday evening, social media was flooded with reports claiming that Smriti and Palash would now tie the knot on 7 December.
However, Smriti’s brother Shravan Mandhana has dismissed all such claims.
“I have no idea about any new date. The wedding is still postponed,” Shravan clarified, according to Hindustan Times.
His statement confirms that no new wedding date has been finalised yet.
What Did Palash Muchhal’s Family Say?
Palash Muchhal’s mother, Amita Muchhal, has also spoken about the emotional setback caused by the sudden postponement.
“Both Palash and Smriti were deeply upset about what happened that day,” she shared.
“We hope and believe the wedding will take place soon.”
She also revealed that the Indian women’s cricket team had planned a special welcome for the newlywed couple.
