Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 begins on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, with the Chaturthi tithi starting from August 26, 1:54 PM to August 27, 3:44 PM, while Ganpati Visarjan will take place on September 6, 2025. Preparations across Mumbai are already in full swing.
According to a report by Times of India, the GSB Seva Mandal, King’s Circle, has secured a record-breaking insurance cover of ₹474.46 crore for this year’s celebrations. This makes it Mumbai’s richest Ganpati mandal once again.
Record Insurance Breakdown
- In 2024, the mandal was insured for ₹400 crore.
- In 2023, it was ₹360.40 crore.
- For 2025, the jump to ₹474.46 crore is credited to the rising valuation of gold and silver ornaments along with coverage for volunteers and priests.
The insurance policy has been issued by New India Assurance, covering:
- ₹375 crore: Personal accident insurance for priests, volunteers, cooks, attendants, and security staff.
- ₹67 crore: Coverage for gold, silver, and precious ornaments (up from ₹43 crore in 2024 and ₹38 crore in 2023).
- ₹30 crore: Public liability insurance.
This extensive coverage cements GSB Seva Mandal as the most financially secure and richest Ganpati mandal in Mumbai.
