Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the “Power Star” has rejoined the NDA, officially returning to the BJP fold. Interestingly, Pawan Singh had previously turned down a BJP ticket, making this political comeback all the more notable.
Pawan Singh has been active in the Bhojpuri entertainment industry since the age of 11. He debuted with his music album Odhaniya Wali in 1997 and gradually rose to fame with hits like Kaanch Kasaili (2004). His international breakthrough came in 2008 with the iconic track Lollipop Lagelu. Transitioning to films, he made his acting debut in 2007 with Rangli Chunariya Tohre Naam Mein, taking the lead role and cementing his stardom.
For the past 28 years, Singh has balanced a successful career in both music and films. Now, he aims to enter politics with the same dedication. His previous political venture in 2014 saw him joining BJP in Bihar under the guidance of party leaders Nityanand Rai and Bhupendra Yadav. Later, in 2024, he was nominated from Asansol, West Bengal, but rejected the ticket and contested as an independent candidate, facing defeat. This time, however, Singh is back in the NDA fold, emphasizing that his political ambitions are driven by a desire to fulfill his mother’s dream rather than personal gain.
