Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss winner Munawar Faruqui and YouTuber-influencer Elvish Yadav have landed in a heated public controversy.
Although the two are not known to be close, their paths have crossed earlier due to their Bigg Boss association. This time, however, the interaction has escalated into a serious dispute involving allegations of an NGO fundraising scam.
Munawar Faruqui Alleges Emotional Fundraising Tactics
The controversy began after Elvish Yadav shared a video appealing for donations of nearly ₹9 crore for the treatment of a sick child.
Reacting to this, Munawar Faruqui posted a video accusing Elvish of promoting what he termed an “NGO scam.” Munawar claimed that his manager received a call asking for the promotion of a reel and post.
According to Munawar:
- The caller initially asked for promotional charges
- When asked about the product, it was described as a donation for a child needing a costly injection
- Munawar said he was willing to help financially but criticised the use of emotional appeals to extract money from common people
Munawar called such practices unethical and said charity should be handled transparently and responsibly.
Elvish Yadav Breaks Silence, Denies Taking Any Money
Elvish Yadav responded strongly to the allegations, dismissing Munawar’s claims outright.
He stated:
“I don’t take money for help. If someone is giving me money, what help is even needed?”
Elvish clarified that the appeal was made to support a friend in need, not as a commercial or promotional activity.
Elvish Defends NGO Transparency and Documentation
Addressing the NGO scam allegation, Elvish said that:
- The NGO’s barcode-based fund tracking system is publicly available
- Medical reports, hospital details, and doctor information are accessible
- Anyone can independently verify the authenticity of the case
He further added that he does not believe in fraud and credited his success to divine blessings.
Taking a direct dig at Munawar, Elvish remarked that people often try to pull others down and advised him to “focus on his own work.”
Social Media Reacts to the War of Words
The exchange has triggered intense debate on social media, with users divided:
- Some supported Munawar’s demand for transparency
- Others backed Elvish, praising his detailed clarification
- Many called for proper verification before making public allegations
As of now, neither party has escalated the matter legally, but the controversy continues to trend online.
