In a shocking revelation, police have filed a 650-page chargesheet in the Kolkata law college gangrape case involving first-year student victim. The document outlines disturbing claims against the prime accused Manojit Mishra, along with his associates Jaib Ahmed and Prameet Mukherjee.
According to the chargesheet, the accused allegedly recorded obscene videos of the victim using a hole in the college wall, originally meant for an exhaust fan. These videos were later used to blackmail the student with threats of public exposure.
Medical and Forensic Evidence Confirms Assault
The medical examination of the victim confirmed sexual assault. Forensic tests conducted on samples collected during the investigation have also validated the findings.
The incident took place on June 25, 2025, inside the South Kolkata Law College campus. Alongside the three main accused, the college’s security guard Pinaki Banerjee was also arrested for allegedly locking the guardroom and failing to inform police despite being aware of the crime.
CCTV Footage and Mobile Evidence
Police have recovered CCTV footage showing the victim being dragged to the crime spot by the accused. Incriminating videos of the victim were also retrieved from the suspects’ mobile phones, containing not just visuals but also their voices. Forensic analysis of the voice samples matched the accused, while mobile location data further placed them at the scene.
Accused with Criminal Past and College Action
Investigators revealed that main accused Manojit Mishra had been arrested eight times previously in separate criminal cases. Following the scandal, the college expelled both Ahmed and Mukherjee, while a temporary staff member was also terminated from service.
The shocking revelations in the chargesheet have sparked outrage, with demands for stricter campus security and swift justice for the victim.
