The Bhojpuri film industry is once again in turmoil, and this time, the storm centers around a 15-year-old rising star — Kajal Kumari. A fake MMS allegedly featuring her went viral, shaking the entertainment world and raising serious concerns over the abuse of AI deepfake technology.
What Really Happened?
A video titled “Kajal Kumari Viral Video 2025” began circulating across Instagram, Telegram, and YouTube. Within hours, the hashtag #KajalKumariMMSLeak trended on X (formerly Twitter). Many users and fan pages shared it blindly, assuming it to be real — but the truth was far more sinister.
The Truth Behind the Viral Clip
Cyber experts later confirmed that the video was completely fake. It was created using AI deepfake tools, morphing Kajal’s face onto another person’s body. Investigators found inconsistencies in the lighting, pixel structure, and facial movements — clear evidence that the clip was artificially generated.
Who Is Kajal Kumari?
Hailing from Vikramganj, Bihar, Kajal began her career at just 10 years old through Bhojpuri music videos. She has appeared alongside stars like Khesari Lal Yadav and gained a huge fan base online, where followers lovingly call her “Bachchi Superstar.”
The Blackmail Twist
The actress’s family revealed that the perpetrators demanded ₹30 lakh to remove the video and prevent defamation. This turned the scandal from a mere case of defamation into one of digital blackmail and extortion.
In an emotional statement, Kajal said, “I’m only 15. Those who did this to me should be punished.”
Deepfake Threat Looms Over Bhojpuri Industry
This isn’t the first time the Bhojpuri film world has faced such a scandal. Popular actresses like Akshara Singh, Trishakar Madhu, and Shilpi Raj have all been victims of similar fake leaks. While AI has opened creative possibilities for filmmakers, it’s now being weaponized as a tool for digital harassment and reputation damage.
