In a major breakthrough in the Elvish Yadav house firing case, police have arrested one of the prime accused, shooter Ishant alias Ishu Gandhi, after an early morning encounter in Faridabad. Ishant, who had fired several rounds outside Youtuber Elvish Yadav’s Gurugram residence, was injured in police crossfire and admitted to a hospital.

Who is Shooter Ishant?

The accused has been identified as Ishant Gandhi, also known as Ishu, a resident of Jawahar Colony, Faridabad. According to police, Ishant has been involved in multiple criminal activities in the past. On August 17, he was one of the shooters who opened fire outside Elvish Yadav’s house before fleeing the scene. Since then, he had been absconding, but police traced him down to Faridabad on Friday morning.

How the Encounter Happened

The encounter was carried out by the Faridabad Crime Branch, Sector 30, under the leadership of DCP Crime Mukesh Malhotra. Acting on a tip-off, the police surrounded Ishant near Faridpur-Tigaon Road between 4:00 and 4:30 am. On seeing himself trapped, Ishant opened fire on the police, firing around half a dozen rounds. In retaliatory firing, police shot him in the leg and arrested him.

Background of the Case

The firing incident took place on Sunday morning, August 17, when two masked men arrived on a bike and opened fire outside Elvish Yadav’s house in Gurugram. CCTV footage confirmed the attack, which was later claimed by the Bhau gang. Fortunately, Elvish Yadav was not at home during the shooting.

While Ishant has now been caught, police confirmed that another accused in the case is still on the run.
