Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma’s love story, which once started with romance, came to an end in 2025 with a highly publicized divorce. After months of speculations, rumors, and accusations, Dhanashree has finally spoken about the heartbreaking day in court and her reaction to Chahal’s viral “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy” T-shirt.
Dhanashree Reveals She Broke Down in Court
In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Dhanashree recalled how difficult the divorce proceedings were. She admitted she couldn’t hold back her emotions and broke down in court, describing it as one of the most painful moments of her life.
The T-Shirt Controversy
Dhanashree addressed the much-talked-about incident where Chahal was spotted wearing a T-shirt with the slogan “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy.” According to her, she already knew the public would blame her regardless of the circumstances.
She explained,
“We left the court quietly. I was in a simple T-shirt, sitting in my car, still trying to process everything. But when I saw him wearing that T-shirt, I knew the narrative would turn against me. People love to point fingers, and I was prepared for that.”
“Why Not Just WhatsApp Me?” – Dhanashree Questions Chahal’s Move
When asked about the message behind Chahal’s T-shirt, Dhanashree expressed her disappointment. She said she was shocked by the stunt and did not expect such behavior from him.
“If he wanted to send a message, he could have just WhatsApped me. Why wear a T-shirt? And honestly, even one T-shirt wouldn’t be enough to say everything.”
Her words reflected both frustration and emotional exhaustion from the controversy that surrounded their separation.
