Famous TV anchor and journalist Chitra Tripathi has once again found herself at the center of a heated controversy. After recently making headlines for her divorce proceedings with husband Atul Agrawal, Tripathi is now caught up in the OYO controversy, which erupted following a sharp online exchange with Congress leader Ragini Nayak.
The matter quickly escalated on social media, drawing huge attention and sparking intense political debate.
How the Controversy Started
The controversy began on August 24, when Ragini Nayak shared an old video of Chitra Tripathi from a political debate, accusing her of setting the agenda in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Nayak sarcastically questioned Tripathi’s credibility as a journalist and tweeted that the anchor only conducts debates to provide “cover fire” for the BJP.
In response, Tripathi hit back the next day, claiming that Nayak had to dig up an old clip just to troll her. “Ragini ji, your days must be really bad if you have to use years-old videos to attack me. I debate every day. Try something new,” Tripathi posted.
Ragini Nayak’s Explosive OYO Remark
The clash turned uglier when Ragini Nayak reacted to one of Tripathi’s posts and brought up the OYO reference, alongside actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan. Her remark, “From OYO to Ravi Kishan, people know everything,” sparked a storm across social media, dragging Tripathi into the OYO controversy.
Nayak further warned that she would continue to expose Tripathi’s “Sanghi agenda” in future debates and even share more old and new videos.
Chitra Tripathi’s Counterattack
Not one to stay silent, Chitra Tripathi retaliated strongly by reminding Ragini Nayak of her 2025 Delhi Assembly elections defeat, where she managed to secure only around 6,000 votes from the Wazirabad constituency.
Tripathi wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
“Reading trolls’ comments is the reason you got only 6,000 votes in Wazirabad and lost your deposit. The public didn’t tolerate your drama, and it proved disastrous for you.”
Previous Row Over Ravi Kishan Video
Just days before this controversy, Tripathi had slammed another X user for sharing a private family video featuring her with BJP MP Ravi Kishan at a function. She termed the act “cheap-minded” and warned of legal action if the video was not removed immediately.
