Brent Hinds, the legendary guitarist and founding member of the Grammy-winning heavy metal band Mastodon, has tragically passed away at the age of 51. According to E! News, the musician died in a motorcycle accident in Atlanta on August 20.
Details of the Accident
Atlanta Police confirmed that Hinds’ Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a BMW SUV. Authorities stated that the BMW driver failed to yield while turning left but remained at the scene following the crash. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Following the heartbreaking news, Mastodon members shared a statement on Instagram expressing their grief:
“We are in a state of unfathomable sadness and grief… Brent Hinds passed away as a result of a tragic accident. We are heartbroken, shocked, and still trying to process the loss of this creative force with whom we’ve shared so many triumphs, milestones, and music that touched countless lives.”
