Renowned singer and composer Adnan Sami, known for soulful tracks like Tera Chehra and Lift Kara De, recently revealed a heartbreaking episode that exposed the inhumanity he faced from Pakistan. In an emotional interview on Aap Ki Adalat with journalist Rajat Sharma, Sami disclosed that he was denied a visa by Pakistan to attend his mother’s funeral in October 2024.

During the show, Adnan shared that although the Indian government immediately granted him permission to travel, his request for a visa to Pakistan was cruelly rejected. He said,
“I applied for the visa. I even explained that my mother had passed away. Still, they denied it. I couldn’t go. I watched her funeral on WhatsApp.”
His voice choked as he recounted how he could only mourn from afar, helplessly attending his mother’s last rites virtually.

Addressing ongoing speculation, Adnan clarified that his decision to accept Indian citizenship in 2016 had nothing to do with financial gain. He stated:
“I left behind properties worth crores in Pakistan. I rebuilt everything in India. I chose India because artists need love, and India gave me that love.”
