Comedian and actor Vir Das welcomed the ruling and stressed on further action. “Thanks to the Supreme Court for supporting sterilization, vaccination, and safe return of our community dogs. Hope municipalities will now create proper feeding zones at a faster pace,” he tweeted.
Court’s Additional Guidelines
The bench further stated that dog lovers willing to adopt can contact animal shelters through designated authorities. At the same time, it strictly discouraged indiscriminate feeding of stray dogs in public places, citing risks of accidents and public health concerns.
