Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji lent her support to the Maharashtra police on Friday, October 3, 2025, by participating in the inauguration of Cyber Awareness Month 2025 at the State Police Headquarters. Known for her fearless portrayal of a police officer in the hit female-led franchise Mardaani, Rani has always championed the cause of law enforcement and public safety.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Police Director General Rashmi Shukla, and ACS of Home Department Iqbal Singh Chahal (IPS). Rani highlighted the alarming rise in cyber crimes targeting women and children and praised the Maharashtra Police Cyber Cell for their tireless efforts in building a safer digital world.
Speaking at the event, Rani Mukerji said, “I feel honored and proud to be part of the Cyber Awareness Month launch. Through my films, I have been fortunate to portray characters that fight injustice and protect the vulnerable. Today, directly from shooting Mardaani 3, this experience feels surreal. Maharashtra Police’s initiative is truly commendable.”
She added, “Cybercrime, especially against women and children, is quietly growing in our homes. As a woman and a mother, I understand the importance of awareness. Real safety begins when families know how to protect themselves and where to seek help.”
Rani also emphasized the significance of government helplines, saying, “Dial 1930 and 1945 are blessings for all citizens. As an artist, I bring stories to life on screen, but as a woman, mother, and citizen, I believe it’s our collective responsibility to ensure that no child cries in silence, no woman feels unsafe, and no family loses peace due to cybercrime.”
Concluding her speech, she urged everyone: “Let’s pledge today to stay vigilant, raise our voices, and stand united for a safer digital world.”
