A Shocking Incident in Greater Noida

On August 23, 2025, a horrifying case of dowry harassment shook Greater Noida’s Sirsa village under Kasna Police Station. Nikki, a young married woman, was allegedly set ablaze by her husband, in-laws, and family members for failing to meet dowry demands. She succumbed to her injuries before reaching the hospital. The brutal incident has sparked outrage across social media.

Khusboo Patni’s Bold Statement

Former Army officer and Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s sister, Khusboo Patni, reacted strongly to the incident. Known for her outspoken views, Khusboo posted a heartfelt appeal for justice on social media.

She wrote, “After Manisha, now Nikki! These are our daughters, our honor. Shame on parents who give or take dowry. Society, wake up—or will you only wake up after more sacrifices? Devils cross every limit while leaders remain silent. We hope @uppolice and @myogiadityanath will deliver justice.”

Khusboo also urged followers to watch her shared content at their own discretion, warning that the visuals might be disturbing.

Police Action: Husband and Mother-in-Law Held

In a swift action, police arrested Nikki’s mother-in-law, Daya Bhati, on Sunday. Meanwhile, Nikki’s husband, Vipin Bhati, attempted to escape custody but was injured after being shot in the leg during the chase.

Father Demands Death Penalty

Nikki’s father, Bhikhari Singh Payla, expressed grief and anger, demanding the harshest punishment for the accused. Speaking to ANI, he said, “The administration is doing its job. They burned her alive. I am relieved that her mother-in-law has been arrested because she instigated everything. A mother’s duty is to guide her child, but instead, she encouraged him. They deserve the death penalty.”
