Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has once again shown his humanitarian side by stepping forward to help those in need. The actor has donated a whopping ₹5 crore towards the relief efforts for the victims of the devastating floods in Punjab.
Akshay shared that this contribution is a part of his service to society and described it as a small gesture compared to the struggles people are facing.
Akshay Calls It His ‘Service’
Speaking about his donation, Akshay Kumar said:
“I am contributing ₹5 crore for the people affected by the floods in Punjab, but who am I to donate? I am only grateful that I got the chance to help. This is my service, a small contribution from my side. I pray for all my brothers and sisters in Punjab—Rab Mehr Kare (May God bless them).”
The actor also expressed hope that Punjab will soon recover from this natural disaster.
Other Celebrities Join Relief Efforts
Apart from Akshay Kumar, several Punjabi and Bollywood celebrities have extended their support, including Diljit Dosanjh, Sonu Sood, Randeep Hooda, Gippy Grewal, Himanshi Khurana, Jasbir Jassi, Karan Aujla, Guru Randhawa, and Ammy Virk.
Meanwhile, actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra announced that the worldwide first-day collection of his film Mahar, released on September 5, will be donated to Punjab flood relief.
Akshay’s History of Philanthropy
This is not the first time Akshay Kumar has come forward during a crisis. In the past, he has donated generously during the Chennai floods, the COVID-19 pandemic, and has consistently supported the families of Indian soldiers through the Bharat Ke Veer app.
